TJBoardhire is a family run business, teaching stand up paddleboarding in West Sussex. The Chichester Canal provides idyllic safe, sheltered conditions where beginners can learn the basics of standup paddleboarding in a safe, sheltered environment.

Sessions are run by qualified and experienced watersports professionals and can be tailored to the specific needs of your group. We have a huge selection of wetsuits and equipment, suitable for all sizes, ages and abilities with wetsuits starting from age 6 to XXL.

Beginner lessons last 2 hours and longer sessions for group bookings can be arranged to include a stop at the canal café for tea and cake or the Richmond pub for a refreshments. This experience provides a unique opportunity to see Chichester Cathedral from the perspective of the stunning Chichester Canal.

Our venue on the River Arun provides a progression to paddling on moving water and is suitable for groups of beginners who want to learn in a more challenging environment. Starting from Pulborough, we follow the twists and turns of this beautiful river with our longer sessions including a stop at the waterside White Hart pub at Stopham for refreshments.
