What is geocaching?

Geocaching is GPS-enabled treasure hunt, using smartphones or GPS devices, to find hidden caches. To play, you need to travel to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the cache (container) hidden at that location. Caches are graded according to their accessibility and content. They can simply be a container with a log book linked to online content, an object or prize. There are over seven million active geocachers worldwide and over 1.4 million caches in Europe.

The England's Creative Coast GeoTour and Adventure Labs has been developed in partnership with Geocaching HQ, Geocaching Adventure Labs and The Geocaching Association of Great Britain.
